Truk Lagoon-4 nights

Our exciting first stop-Shipwrecks of Truk. Truk is the best wreck diving in the w0rld overall. You can penetrate into the wrecks but you can't remove any artifacts. Caustic substances like high octane aviation fuel, oils, gasoline and acid exist on many of the wrecks. Explosives, mines, munitions, detonators, torpedoes and shells are still "live".

On the morning of February 17, 1944, a surprise U.S. Navy air attack code named: "Operation Hailstone" caught a fleet of Japanese Merchant vessels and warships by surprise in Truk Lagoon. 400 tons of bombs and torpedo were dropped. A total of 40 ships and thousands of men went to the bottom. Ten weeks later, a second raid added 10 more. The wrecks are called Maru (meaning ship in Japanese).

We will dive coral encrusted Japanese ships which were sunk by the U.S. Navy during WW2. You'll see relics of the war in addition to the fantastic fish life that surrounds these wrecks.

We will stay at the Blue Lagoon Resort to dive Truk.
